Makie Terms
Updated 29 July 2026
These terms apply to Makie, a creative game-building service operated by Askie Kids AI Limited. Using Makie also requires following the safety rules shown in the product.
Adult authorization
A parent, guardian, school, or other authorized adult must create or authorize the account and supervise a child's use. Invite codes and account controls should stay with the authorized family.
Freedom to create
Playing public and starter games does not require a paid creation plan. Creating, repairing, restoring, publishing, and remixing games requires an active Maker or Studio household plan. Plans include weekly Make Credits, new games use 3 credits, AI improvements use 1 credit, and automatic repairs use no credits. Optional top-ups add household credits that do not expire. There is no free creation tier and no limit on the number of children in a household.
30-day money-back guarantee
The first Maker or Studio household subscription is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Contact askie@kidsai.app within 30 days of the first subscription payment to request a full subscription refund. This guarantee does not limit any statutory refund rights.
Publishing
Publishing creates a public play link to a fixed app version. The maker may list that version in Explore, where Makie users can discover it and leave one positive Fun, Clever, or Beautiful reaction per child profile. Makers cannot react to their own games. The maker chooses whether permitted scoreboard fields are public and whether other signed-in Makie users may make a private copy. Choosing copying permission grants those users permission to copy and modify that published version for their own Makie creations, with automatic attribution to the original app and maker. Turning copying off stops future copies but does not revoke copies already made. Do not publish personal information or content you do not have permission to share.
Safe use
Do not use Makie to harm, bully, exploit, deceive, collect personal information, bypass safeguards, attack systems, or create unlawful or seriously age-inappropriate content. Games may be reported, reviewed, restricted, or removed to protect children and the service.
AI-generated results
AI output can be surprising, incomplete, or wrong. Preview and test apps before sharing. Makie may automatically repair or block unsafe or broken output. Explore listings receive an additional automated AI review for critical scams and inappropriate content, but automated review cannot guarantee that every issue will be found. Players can report an app for further review.
Your creations
Families keep their rights in original prompts and content. They grant Makie the limited rights needed to host, process, secure, and, when chosen, publish an app, show it in Explore, and create copies under the maker's selected permission. Copies keep automatic attribution to the original app and maker. Third-party content remains subject to its owner's rights.
Accounts and service changes
Families can delete Makie without deleting Askie after any active or past-due Makie subscription is managed or canceled. Canceling a subscription stops future renewal but does not immediately delete projects. Makie may limit or end access for safety, abuse, legal requirements, payment status, or service changes. Material changes to these terms will be communicated appropriately.
