Makie lets children turn an idea into a playable game by describing it in their own words. They can then change it, share it and play games other makers have published, inside a moderated environment managed by a parent.

Makie is operated by Askie Kids AI Limited, the same small team behind Askie, the AI learning companion for children.

Makie is built for young makers aged 7 to 15.

Yes. A parent, guardian or other authorized adult creates the household account, adds each child and supervises their use. A child's own sign-in email is optional.

What your child types is checked before Makie builds anything, and the finished game is checked again before they see it. Games run in a sandbox, and anything shared publicly is reviewed and can be reported and taken down. Automated checks cannot promise to catch everything, which is why reporting is always available.

No. Makie has no chat with strangers and no advertising. Players can only leave one positive reaction on a game: Fun, Clever or Beautiful.

Every public game has a report option, and a report can be sent without signing in. The Makie team reviews the exact version that was played, and the game may be restricted or removed.

Make Credits are what creating costs. A new game or remix uses 3 credits and each change uses 1. Repairs, publishing and playing are free.

Makie is free to start. Every household gets free Make Credits every week with no card needed, and playing is always free. Maker and Studio plans add many more credits each week.

Your household earns one free Make Credit when a signed-in child from another household actively plays one of your shared games for 30 seconds. Limits apply: your own play does not count, and a household can earn at most ten credits a week. Earned credits carry over.

Nothing is locked. Saved games still play and can still be published, and the free credits refill the next week. Makie may offer a paid plan, and that offer can always be dismissed.

Games are private until a maker chooses to publish. Publishing is free and creates a play link to a fixed version. The maker can also add the game to Explore, where it appears after an automated safety review.

No. Anyone with a published link can play that game, and public games in Explore can be played without signing in.

Only if the maker allows it when publishing. A copy starts private, credits the original maker and does not include the original game's saved data or scores. Turning copying off stops future copies but does not remove copies already made.

You can review your children's projects, add or remove a child's sign-in email, stop sharing a game, remove it from Explore, stop future copying, change maker usernames and delete games. Only the household owner sees prices and manages billing.

There is no limit on the number of children in a household, and one plan covers all of them.

Yes. Cancel from your Makie settings and you keep the plan until the period you have paid for ends. Your games stay yours and are still playable.

You can permanently delete Makie from settings once any active Makie subscription has been cancelled. This removes your Makie games, drafts, scores, public links and usernames without deleting your Askie account. Limited billing, security or legal records may be kept when required.

Makie runs in a modern web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Optional dictation depends on the speech recognition built into the browser.
